How The Full Moon of June 2023 Will Affect Your Zodiac Sign

By Connie Jones-Steward

The sixth Full Moon of 2023 and the last full moon of Spring occurs on June 3 at 8:42 PM PDT at 13degrees in the sign of Sagittarius. The Sagittarius Full Moon occurs opposite the Sun in Gemini along the communication/mental axis which encompasses higher and lower learning and travel, both domestic and international.

Like all Full Moons, the June Full moon goes by various cultural names. One of the most common names is the Strawberry Moon given in honor of June being the traditional month that wild berries become ripe and ready for the harvest. The June full moon is also known as the Honey Moon and the Mead Moon– because mead, which is made from honey, was typically ready to drink at this time– and the Dyad Moon. Dyad means pair and this name is probably in honor of the zodiac sign Gemini.

We all feel the effects of the full moon, but not equally or in the same manner. This moon will have a particularly strong effect on those born with planets between 3 and 13 degrees in the signs of Sagittarius, Leo and Aries. Taurus will also be mightily affected by this moon. Read below to find out why.

This horoscope is meant to serve as guidance and inspiration as opposed to rigid dogma. I advise that you read for both your sun sign and rising sign as some people are more affected by transits involving their rising signs and some feel the effects of both.

Aries & Aries Rising: This moon occurs in your 9th house, the house of expansion and adventure, where it forms a trine with Chiron. You are being challenged to break out of your comfort zone and test your limits. Perhaps step up and take a leadership role in a situation where you feel that no one else is taking the necessary initiative.

Taurus & Taurus Rising: This full moon is forming a quincunx with both Mercury and Uranus in your 8th house of shared resources and sexual intimacy. Disagreements may occur regarding finances or sexual tensions with your partner may arise. Luckily Jupiter is also in Taurus and this may help mellow out any drama caused by sex and/or money.

Gemini & Gemini Rising: The last full moon of Spring is lighting up your house of relationships. Now is the time to embrace honest and open communication. Instead of being the chatty one, let your loved ones lead the conversation or offer you advice this time around.

Cancer & Cancer Rising: Your 6th house of daily routines, health and service is activated with this moon. The care of small pets also falls into the 6th house. With Venus in your sign trine Neptune in Pisces, you will most likely be feeling sentimental, nostalgic and altruistic. Now would be a good time to go out and commit random acts of kindness and then come home and snuggle with your kitty or pooch as you watch old movies or flip through family photo albums.

Leo & Leo Rising:  Leo, this Sagittarius moon hits your 5th house of romance, creativity & pleasure where it will trine both the asteroid Lilith and the Mars. With all this fire going on, you will be unstoppable as the masculine and feminine energies merge to make you a magnet to potential or current partners. Also, this is a time to follow your creative urges and trust that the universe has your back as you breathe life into your ideas.

Virgo & Virgo Rising: Yes, dear Virgo, I know you like routines and order; especially when it comes to your home life. However, this month, the moon in Sagittarius is giving you permission to experiment a little. Perhaps try out a new household cleaning regimen or brighten up your home with some colorful new drapes or slipcovers.

Libra & Libra Rising: This moon lights up your 3rd house of communication and your local environment. Your neighbors, siblings, and local community will trust you as a source of information if you present your facts clearly and in an easily accessible manner. Consider starting or re-vamping a podcast, blog or newsletter.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising: Your 2nd house of personal wealth and value is affected this month. With Uranus, Mercury and Jupiter across the zodiac from you in Taurus, you may be presented with opportunities to expand your assets quickly. Conversely you may also lose your fortune quickly if not careful.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising: The moon is shining on your 1st house; the house of self. Don’t be afraid to focus on yourself and your own needs during this time. Also, do not play coy. Take up space, toot your own horn learn to accept compliments and credit when it is due to you.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising: With this lunation in your 12th house, now would be an excellent time to put grind culture to rest for a moment. Yes, I know you’re all about the hustle, but now is the time to attend to your spiritual needs. Try retreating into the stillness for a few days. You may come out recharged and ready to hustle smarter vs harder.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising: The moon is shining on your 11th house of groups, friendships and communities. With Pluto Retrograde in your 11th house you may find yourself wondering if certain friendships or alliances or worth maintaining. However, Pluto is forming a sextile with Neptune, the planet of unconditional love and with the moon in jovial Sagittarius added to the mix you may find yourself willing to give that friend or ally another chance.

Pisces & Pisces Rising: The light of the moon is on your 10th house of career and reputation. With Saturn in your sign sextile Jupiter in Taurus, expect accolades and recognition at work. However, those accolades may come with added responsibilities, so make sure this something that you want. Neptune in your sign trine Venus in Cancer may lead to unrealistic ideas about just how much new responsibility you can handle.
